Royal Family Isolated Meghan Markle And Prince Harry And Left Them 'Out On A Limb,' Reports Say
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview for their documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey shocked many royal watchers. The couple candidly opened up about their struggles of living under public scrutiny.
The documentary comes after the Sussex pair announced their legal fight with the major media outlets but it looks like their public steps against the press and revealing documentary created an abyss between them and other royal family members.
Royal Family isolated Meghan and Harry
Richard Palmer, who works as a royal correspondent at the Daily Express, believes that the royal family isolated the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
He noted that neither Queen nor other royal relatives support the way they decided to tackle the issue with the media. Palmer said:
There has been no support from within the Royal Family, as far as I can tell, for Harry and Meghan’s confrontational approach to the media. They are out on a limb on that.
The correspondent noted that everyone in the family had their ‘ups and downs’ with the press but they never went openly and legally against them.
He continued:
The Queen, Charles and Camilla, and the Cambridges don’t think it a good idea and there have been words.
That might be why Meghan and Harry refused the Queen’s invitation to spend Christmas in Sandringham. According to the official statement, the couple is taking ‘extended family time’ and won’t be joining the royal family members for winter festivities.
