Tyra Banks knows first-hand how hard it is to balance between building a career and raising a child. In January 2016, the America’s Next Top Model host and her partner Erik Asla welcomed their first common kid – little York. The boy was born via a surrogate, but Tyra still took some time off of her work to be near her baby.

The America’s Got Talent judge recalled these days in an interview with USA Today:

However, in a recent interview with E! News, Banks opened up about what the first years of her motherhood were like. “I am a very hardworking momma,” says the supermodel, “and hopefully a good example to my son.”

Tyra says she wants York to understand that she works really hard and that all the good things they have come at a price. And when being asked about what was the hardest part of it, she says:

The woman then explains that no matter how tired or exhausted you are, you have to be there for your baby whenever they need you because “your baby is boss.” And this is, in her opinion, both the hardest and the most beautiful thing about being a mom.

As of the possibility of having more kids in the near future, the supermodel cagily responded:
