Meghan Markle’s Brother Thomas Opens Up About Duchess’ First Marriage To Trevor Engelson

There was a time when Meghan Markle thought she found the person she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. But that person wasn’t Prince Harry. Meghan Markle got engaged to Trevor Engelson in 2010 after 6 years of dating and the couple had a beautiful wedding in Jamaica.
Markle, a stunning bride, walked barefoot to the isle as over 100 guests witnessed her saying “I do” to Engelson. But their marriage only lasted 2 years.
Meghan Markle separated with her first husband in 2013 and went on living a single life before she met Prince Harry. However, the Duchess’ brother Thomas has just revealed his version of her romance with Engelson.
Meghan Markle and Trevor Engelson were so “in love”
The Duchess’ estranged brother Thomas Markle gave a new interview earlier this month. He spoke on Australian’s TV show about Meghan and Harry’s decision to leave the royal family.
During the interview, Thomas also talked about the Duchess’ first marriage. He noted that it seemed to be ‘going well’ and Meghan and Trevor were ‘happily in love.’

Thomas commented:
She [Meghan Markle] took off and went to Canada and started that series and I think it just fell apart from there. I think they grew apart with a long distance-relationship.
He added:
It’s unfortunate because I thought they were very happily in love and very happy together.
Only Meghan and Trevor can really tell what actually went wrong in their relationship. However, the end of their marriage reportedly came as a surprise for Engelson and their friends.

In Andrew Morton’s book about the former actress, the author writes that the news about the couple’s divorce ‘genuinely shocked’ everyone, including Trevor himself. It was said:
Trevor went from cherishing Meghan to, as one friend observed, ‘feeling like he was a piece of something stuck at the bottom of her shoe.’
Meghan Markle’s former friend Abby Wathen said the Duchess’ first marriage wasn’t something she needed and it wasn’t ‘right’ for her so she ended it.
Engelson married for the second time
Trevor might have been upset and angry about the end of his love story with Meghan but he moved on, just like she did. He married in spring last year after his former spouse gave birth to her first child.
