But how will Meghan and Harry stay in Canada? Will it be easy and safe for their son Archie? Global News assumes:

  • the two can live in Canada for six months without formal paperwork;
  • they can apply for work visas;
  • the couple can file for residence visas in case Meghan doesn’t have it already.

Taxpayers Federation has launched an online petition against paying for Meghan Markle, Prince Harry, and baby Archie’s stay in North America.

Everyone wishes Meghan and Harry all the best in becoming financially independent, but we need to be clear about one thing: Canadian taxpayers shouldn’t have to cover their bills.

According to recent estimations, more than 80,000 Canadians have already signed the petition, demanding the Sussex couple pay for their own security measures while they live in the country. The Canadian Taxpayers Federation wants to let PM Justin Trudeau know that “Canadians are happy to welcome the couple as long as they pay their own way.”

Previously, the Prime Minister spoke a few words about his old friends, Meghan and Harry, addressing the concerns about their security details. He told Global News:
