The love story of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is the stuff fairy tales are made of. Since the couple announced their engagement in November, no detail of their romance has escaped our attention.

Blind Date

To start with, they met on a blind date. What are the chances that you could go from that to a royal wedding? But, the pair began with the attendant odds of blind dating stacked against them, and they made it work.

A mutual friend had arranged for them to meet, and, in their first post-engagement interview, Meghan said she only asked to know if Prince Harry was nice.

Romantic Getaway In Botswana

That first meeting was followed by two consecutive dates in London. Harry’s next move for a third date was a safari in Botswana. He planned the trip to coincide with her 36th birthday.

Recall that Meghan, at the time, lived in Canada and had a starring role in the US television series Suits, where she played a young paralegal with ambitions of being called to the bar.

Between her acting schedule and Harry’s royal duties, they found the time for their romantic getaway.

The pair stayed at the Meno A Kwena, a spot not very far from the town of Maun.

The feat was easy for Harry to pull off. He was already familiar with the east African town and its surrounding natural reserves from his previous visits to the country.

Surprise Proposal

Although the couple tried to be as discreet as possible, news of their trip to Botswana led to speculations of a sunset, safari-themed proposal.

But, all they did was bond and have a great time in the beautiful, secluded camp.
