Love On Repeat: Donnie Wahlberg & Jenny McCarthy Renew Their Wedding Vows For The 5th Time
Recently, Donnie Wahlberg and his wife, Jenny McCarthy celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary. The proud husband shared a throwback photo of their wedding on Instagram along with a new video. In the caption, he confessed his love for his wife through a beautiful message.
Apparently, the romantic getaway wasn’t enough for the lovely couple to mark the special day. The two jetted off toTurks and Caicos where they renewed their vows for the fifth time. It has become a ritual for them to re-commit to rejoice. Donnie and Jenny hired former NFL player Ray McElroy to do the honors and re-officiate their union.
Why the retake on love?
When something is too good you want to replay it over and over again. That’s the case for Donnie and Jenny. They annually remind each other that their relationship should be the number one priority.
Jenny talked to US Weekly and disclosed the significance of this yearly milestone:
Every renewal feels like this. We can’t believe it’s been five years because it feels like it’s been a lifetime. But also feels like it’s been two weeks. It’s weird because we have that new love feeling.
McCarthy was previously married to John Asher whom she shares son, Evan. Donnie had Elijah and Xavier with his ex-wife, Kimberly Fey. So, the pair has a blended family of five. They met in their forties and now, want to treasure every moment.
How does their marriage work so greatly?
Both of them prove it’s better the second time around. Jenny and Donnie have experience from past failures. They know what works and what doesn’t. The wife told ET Canada:
We’re able to love each other and not put expectations on each other to make each other happy and that’s a big one when it comes to relationships.
Donnie and Jenny are goals-worthy. They make us believe that fairytales can reoccur. Never lose hope and take the leap for the second time.
