James Hetfield is one of the greatest musicians of all time. He is mainly known for the famous heavy metal band Metallica, which he co-founded in 1981. He has been on the music scene for what feels like ages but what is James Hetfield’s net worth?

James Hetfield was born in California in the family of an opera singer and a truck driver. Even though his parents divorced when he was 13, they were devoted Christians who didn’t believe in medicine and thought faith has healing powers.

In October 1981, James saw an ad in a magazine posted by drummer Lars Ulrich and answered to it. Soon after, the award-winning band Metallica was formed. A few of Hetfield’s songs he wrote for the band were inspired by his unusual religious upbringing, including:

Hetfield is also a property owner. He has houses in Maui and Colorado. Moreover, in 1999, he got impressive 1,150 acres of rural property. At the moment he only owns around 50 acres of it, giving the rest to charity.

What is James Hetfield up to in 2020?
The singer recently returned from a rehab where he had been since fall 2019. It could have messed up with Metallica’s plans to release a new album but there is no certainty in it, as well as in the band’s future altogether.

During his recent interview, Hetfield said:
Right now, I’m sitting in the Petersen Museum, and I don’t know what’s gonna happen next. That’s the beauty of this. We’ll sit down and figure out what works best for us. Whatever is coming up, we don’t know. And we kind of thrive off of the fear of the unknown — a bit — and being scared just enough to feel alive.
