Donald and Melania’s 13-year-old son, Barron Trump, is usually kept away from the public by his parents. Nobody knows the exact reason for keeping his life in secret.

Presumably, Melania wants Barron to have a usual childhood. She wants to give him an opportunity to grow up normally and avoid media attention.

Reportedly, it is also connected to reports about Barron being bullied at school due to his father being the President. Supposedly, Barron Trump faced not physical, but verbal bullying.
According to the Hollywood Life, Melania Trump was very concerned about this situation and tried to protect her son from it. As every mother, she wants her child to stay away from bullying. The report read:
Worst of all, her heart breaks for her son who gets regularly teased at school and has a hard time defending his father to his classmates. It’s so unfortunate for someone so young and innocent to have to deal with that so we definitely hope that Barron and Melania feel better soon.

The SAFE survey results show that teenagers are most likely to face bullying in grades 6th through 10th. During this period, the involvement in activities, related to bullying, is the highest.
