Aretha Franklyn was one of a kind artist. Her legacy was not only touching the hearts of her fans but, also bagging respect and admiration from her fellow musicians.

Many singers felt honored to perform her songs but, talented Bonnie Raitt and Gloria Estefan got the privilege of singing with her.

The I Can’t Make You Love Me hitmaker was truly starstruck by Aretha. Bonnie was impressed by the redemption and the pain, the yearning and the surrender in her idol’s voice. In an interview with RollingStone, she said:

I loved everything about her [Aretha]. I loved the way she looked, I loved the ache in her heart, and her sass.

Aretha Franklyn’s ‘A Natural Woman’ ft. Bonnie Raitt & Gloria Estefan

The classes soul number (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman is from the legend’s 1968 album, Aretha in Paris. Composers: Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Jerry Wexler compiled it in such a way that it remains timeless to this day.

In 1993, Bonnie Raitt & Gloria Estefan united their forces with Aretha at Nederlander Theatre, Manhattan, NYC. It was a fundraising event for the AIDS service organization Gay Men’s Health Crisis.

The three ladies matched their vocals and spread the magic by performing, A Natural Woman in harmony. They were sitting on stools looking up to each other’s excellence. Bonnie who was feeling the luckiest at the moment, revealed Aretha’s sweet gesture, saying:

I’ll never forget – she touched my shoulder while singing, “Looking out at the pouring rain.” I almost fell off the stool.
