According to Plasticitybraincenters, one main reason why Christmas music makes us happy is not the sound we’re hearing itself but the memories that come with it. Such Christmas-related elements like Santa Claus, family time, receiving presents, and so on, are associated with Christmas music. And when you hear the songs years later, they can evoke a sense of happiness and nostalgia.

Mariah Carey is the Christmas Queen for a reason

Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You will forever remain an iconic Christmas song. 25 years after its release, it made its way to the US No 1 chart which was very impressive.

According to Guardian, it made history as the first Christmas song to top the charts in the US since Christmas Don’t Be Late broke this feat in 1958.

In an interview with the New York Times, Mariah expressed her excitement at this history-making moment. She revealed that for a long time, she "picked apart" the song whenever she listened to it. But no more.

I feel like I’m finally able to enjoy it. I just truly love the holidays – I know it’s corny, and I don’t care.
