Despite a thriving and successful career spanning over 47 years, Pauley was able to find love in just one man, Garry Trudeau.

Love and success
Pauley is happily married to the famous cartoonist, Garry Trudeau. Garry is best known for creating the Doonesbury comic strip.
The lovebirds met in 1975 shortly after Garry won the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning. They were introduced by a mutual friend and Jane’s co-host Tom Brokaw.

Despite how famous Doonesbury was back then, Pauley admits that she didn’t know about it until after she met Garry. Five years after they met, the pit tied the knot on June 14, 1980.
They are proud parents to three kids and also have beautiful grandchildren. Pauley and Trudeau have been able to efficiently mix pleasure and work, as the journalist once interviewed her husband in 2018.

Speaking about her incredible life, the 68-year-old news anchor said:
“I’ve been uncommonly, eerily blessed in my life.”
Despite almost reaching 70 years of age, Jane is still very active in the world of journalism. She also serves her community at any chance she gets.
In 2009, she allowed her name to be used for the Jane Pauley Community Health Center.
