Still Single Sally Field Found Salvation In Children But What Are Her Thoughts About Marriage

Sally Field can boast a successful career in the movie industry but her love life has been a difficult journey for her. Field said “I do” twice in her life: to Steven Craig in 1968 and to Alan Greisman in 1984. Sadly, none of those marriages lasted.

Now, at 73, Sally Field’s children and grandchildren are her salvation from loneliness. But does she want to get married again?

Sally Field has 3 kids from her failed marriages:
- sons Peter and Eli Craig from Steven Craig;
- and another son, Samuel Greisman, from Alan Greisman.
All of Sally’s boys got interested in the cinema industry but they chose different paths. The eldest, Peter, became a screenwriter.
His brother, Eli, turned his attention to acting and directing. The youngest of the three, Sam, is a professional filmmaker.
Field is extremely proud of her children and not only because they are successful at what they do but also because of their kind hearts. She said:
The three things I’m most proud of in my life are my sons. They are kind, loving, productive people. Each with their own list of talents and accomplishments.

Sally’s sons also made her a grandmother. The Oscar-winning actress has 5 grandchildren and loves to spend time with them. Field admitted that her family is her whole life, saying:
I’m not married; I’m not the kind of person that has a life separate from them. That’s my family. That’s my everything.
What about marriage?
Sally dedicated all of her time to her children and grandchildren, as well as to her successful career. But what about her personal life?
It’s pretty much non-existent but it doesn’t mean that Field has lost hope to find someone special. The actress once said that she is ‘open to dating’ but she hadn’t met anyone suitable yet.

Sally is not running away from love but it’s just not at the top of her list. The actress’ friend said to Closer Weekly:
If she met someone special, she wouldn’t hide him. At heart, Sally is a perpetual optimist but she’s happy in her own skin.
Miracles happen and people meet the love of their lives in their 70s, too, so nothing is lost for Field!
From an award-winning actress to a babysitter
When Sally Field’s grandchildren were young, she used to babysit them often. She once shared that her mother was a ‘backup parent’ for her and now she became a ‘backup parent’ for her own children, too.

She said:
Luckily, my older sons don’t have careers where they have to go out of town for three months — whew. Because I don’t know that I could be such a good back-up parent. But still, I’m the babysitter.
It’s not hard to tell that for Field, her family has always been the most important thing in her life. The actress still gets big roles and continues to act with the same impressive talent that helped her to win an Oscar. Yet, even though her bed is empty when she comes home, her heart is full of love when she spends time with the people she loves the most.
