It’s normal for couples to joke around and Ruth Langsford was prepared with a sharp reply of her own when her husband made a funny one on TV.
The discussion that started it
It was recently reported that Paul Hollywood and his 24-year-old girlfriend Summer Monteys-Fullam have broken up.
According to Hello, the 53-year-old ‘The Great British Bake Off‘ star ended his two-year romance with his younger partner after she refused to sign a non-disclosure agreement which prevented her from discussing their relationship.
Ruth goes savage
While discussing Paul’s breakup drama during a recent episode of ‘This Morning,’ host Eamonn Holmes reportedly opined that everyone is more "outraged" about Summer’s age even more than the fact that the older TV personality was actually dating a girl with that name.

In what sounded like a defense of Paul, Eamonn turned to his wife Ruth and said;
People like you, huffing and puffing, going ‘well’. Say I ran off with a 24-year-old?
Ruth joked in return as she addressed any interested young woman out there;
Take him, seriously, he’s yours.

Eamonn’s response was that if he does decide to leave Rith, he will have a "spiteful ex" on his hands and his wife agreed, saying;
I would be so spiteful. You wouldn’t want me.
To show that the jabs weren’t over, later on in the show, after a segment on cleaning, Ruth asked;
When you’re thinking of going off with that 24-year-old – could she make a bed? Could she make that hospital corner?

At this point Eamonn had no choice but to give in and appreciate his wife;
It is a joy to live in a house which is like a 5 star hotel because of you. You’re the best chamber maid ever.

It sure sounds like Eamonn would miss out on quite a bit if he split from his wife. While we can conclude that their back-and-forth on the show is simply a fun joke between a married couple, Ruth sure made it plain that Eamonn wouldn’t come out of a divorce unscathed. Now let’s hope it never comes to that.
