The award-winning celebrity began her early performance in 1943, taking part in several low-budget films. After her debut in Written On The Wind, she began to acquire her popularity and won her first prize – the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress.

Her cinematography career has reached its peak in the middle of 1960s when she starred as Constance MacKenzie in Peyton Place during 1964-1968. Her later activity period was not as successful, but soon, in 1992, she appears on the screens in a neo-noir erotic thriller movie Basic Instinct.
