The Duchess of Cambridge received a new title – she became the new patron of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).

On Tuesday, Kate visited the college to learn more about its health programs aimed to decrease maternal and newborn mortality.

During her visit, Kate had a very emotional reunion with a special person in her life. The duchess met the midwife who helped deliver one of her kids, little Charlotte.

Professor Jacqueline Dunkley-Bent and duchess couldn’t hide their excitement as they greeted each other. Jacqueline was obviously delighted to meet Kate again:

It was a surprise and an absolute pleasure to be reunited with Kate again today. Supporting families at the birth of their baby – including future kings and queens – is hugely rewarding and we’re very grateful to have the Duchess of Cambridge’s support for the nursing profession.

As a part of her visit, the Duchess of Cambridge announced about launching the Nursing Now campaign, aimed at raising the status of nursing worldwide. Kate made an accent on the greatest contribution the nurses made to a baby bringing to this world. She also mentioned about the care and compassion that sometimes only nurses can provide for a future mom.

This campaign means a lot to me personally. My great-grandmother and grandmother were both volunteer nurses.

As we know, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are going to welcome their baby No. 3 in April 2018. The royal couple reportedly plans to deliver their third child at home – either at the Kensington Palace or the Sandringham Estate. In one of her interviews, Kate revealed:

It is full of complex emotions of joy, exhaustion, love, and worry, all mixed together. Nothing can really prepare you for you the sheer overwhelming experience of what it means to become a mother.

We congratulate lovely Kate on her new title of the patron of RCOG and wish her success in this noble endeavor.
