Yesterday, Duchess Catherine paid a solo visit to one of her favorite patronages, Evelina London Children’s Hospital. She was there to learn more about the art workshops, which are designed by her another patronage, the National Portrait Gallery Hospital Programme.

Kate Middleton was all smiles meeting young children and helping them do their own creative work at the workshops. Not only her re-worn Dolce & Gabbana skirt suit attracted people’s eyes, but her fun-loving and artsy side of personality.

It’s almost impossible to imagine Kate Middleton without Princess Diana’s engagement ring, which she typically wears everywhere. At the meeting at Evelina London, the royal mother broke one rule and refused to wear her engagement and wedding rings. Why so?

Eye watchers did not spot any of her jewelry on her fingers per usual. Kensington Palace explained to HELLO! Online that she did it to avoid any potential hygiene hazards. Since Duchess Catherine visited children’s wards at the hospital, she refused to wear jewelry for the sake of little ones.

And it’s actually not the first time she did so. Back in 2018, the royal woman did not wear her engagement ring and opted for a very simple gold band instead ahead of her solo visit at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She followed the hospital’s policy on minimal jewelry due to the health and safety of patients.

Another situation was the breach of royal protocol. Royals aren’t allowed to take selfies or pose for any other photos in that matter. However, Kate Middleton couldn’t resist an adorable boy who tried his Polaroid camera for the first time.

The picture shows Duchess Catherine beaming with joy as she holds one of the ‘rag wreaths,’ given to her by the little guy and his sister. Before posting for the camera, the 38-year-old acknowledged the kids she would put this wreath in Princess Charlotte’s room.
