Country Legend Kenny Rogers Is "Steadily Progressing" After Battling With Health Issues

Kenny Rogers didn’t mess with the doctor’s order and walked away early from his 2018 Gambler’s Last Deal Tour – the final tour in the singer’s career.

There were no details released as to what kind of health issues the country legend is facing, but the doctors recommended him to rest, saying he would heal quicker if he wasn’t on the road.

Now, his bandmates are giving an update on Rogers’ health. Chuck Jacobs told Closer Weekly:

They recommended he stay home to get his energy back.

Even though the 79-year-old singer is disappointed with the canceling of his farewell tour, he is trying to stay positive. Another band member, Warren Hartman, adds:

He was recovering a little slower from a surgical procedure than anticipated. He’s steadily progressing but, due to his age, recovery is [not as fast]. And the tour is demanding.

Though there hasn’t been any confirmation on what kind of surgery the singer had, previously Rogers battled skin cancer in 2014 and had prior knee replacements surgeries.

Fortunately, Kenny has a great support team not only on stage but also at home. His “miracle worker,” fifth wife, Wanda, who he has been married to for 20 year, and their children, 13-year-old twins Jordan and Justin, are always by his side.

Last year, the country legend decided to retire because he believes he’s done everything he could in his career and now it’s somebody else’s turn to shine. Moreover, Rogers wished to spend more time with his family, and it looks like his desire has come true.
