Donald Trump Mocked For Saying Americans Need ID Cards To Buy Groceries When They Truly Don't
The 45th President of the United States held a political rally in Lake Charles, Louisiana on October 10. He pinched again at the misconception about American’s consumer rights. People are addressing his mistake with mockery.

During his speech, Donald Trump mentioned the absurdity of people not needing ID cards while casting a vote. But, they do need to prove identity with a picture when out buying groceries. He said the system has loopholes that promote rigging. Mr. President first gave the same example at the Florida State Fairgrounds in 2018.

That’s not entirely true
His then-press secretary, Sarah Sanders had explained to the public that Donald was referring to the purchases of alcoholic items. However, when the conservative Daily Caller asked the same question from the President, he was like: "if you buy, you know, a box of cereal."

According to CNN’s fact check, his statement about ID condition is completely false. Superstore chains like Costco only require to see ID cards when applying for membership. Others just need it when they have to make sure the buyer is at least 18 while looking for certain medicines etc. In most cases, normal consumers do it if credit card mishaps happen.

And about the ID proof in the voting process, the National Conference of State Legislatures confirms another error of Mr. Trump. Thirty-five states of America have some kind of voter identification necessary.

Actually you do, unless you are paying in cash. To write a check or use a credit card, identification is required. Your fact checking needs to be fact checked. Nice try though

Depends on where you go, I have been asked for ID before. Heck in HI I was asked for ID to buy stamps at the Post Office. It does happen
Others mocked Donald Trump for his semi-false statement. They doubt if he ever went to do groceries himself.
