Why Matt And Amy's Marriage Didn't Work After They Had Kids? Roloffs Explain The Reason
Amy Roloff and Matt Roloff were married for 27 years, but after so many years together, they got divorced. It happened back in 2015, and since that time, both of them have already found new partners. Matt is dating the Roloff Farms manager, Caryn Chandler, and Amy is happy together with boyfriend Chris Marek.
Still, why did they decide to end their marriage after 27 years together? During a recent episode of Little People, Big World, Matt revealed the real reason for such decision.
When talking about his girlfriend Caryn, he said:
I really like and appreciate the fact that she wants to spend personal time with me. It really warms my heart. Amy and I had some compatibility when the kids were born, but looking back after the kids were gone, we realized we don’t really have a lot in common.
By the way, Matt and Caryn knew each other for four years before starting to date. Caryn was working at the Farm and was in good relations with Amy.
Matt continued talking about the reason for the divorce with Amy. He said:
We are different people. We are very different people. So it feels good to be in a situation where you feel compatible on many levels.
Amy confirmed that they are completely different people. She is now happy with Chris and can’t imagine her life without this man. They celebrated their anniversary by going skydiving, and had so much fun together. She said:
I don’t really remember doing a lot of this with Matt. He was just so focused on work or doing projects. Being aggressive is good, that’s how you get to do the things you want to do. But you have to realize it can come at a cost. And I think it definitely came at a cost.
Both of them are now happy and enjoy life. Despite the divorce, they are in friendly relations and are often together for family occasions.
