Prince George is turning into a handsome young man right before our very eyes. Since he was a baby, royal fans have oohed and aahed over pictures of this Cambridge cutie and we have to say, he has only gotten more adorable with age.

A special family walk

Prince George’s pictures are almost always guaranteed to grab the attention of people. The six-year-old recently made a pretty big debut and it shows just how grown-up he’s getting.

On Christmas Day 2019, George joined his dad, mom, sister and other senior members of the royal family as they took their annual walk to church. This was reportedly Prince George and Princess Charlotte’s first time joining their family on this walk. And it was clearly a pretty big deal.

Another big moment

It’s a safe bet that 2020 will be a quite a year for Prince George considering how he kicked things off on Christmas Day. And to prove just that, the young royal made another interesting appearance, again with other members of his family.

On January 4th, the Kensington Palace shared a portrait that featured Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William, and Prince George. According to the caption, the picture was taken and shared as a way to mark the beginning of a new decade.

In the picture, George looked very handsome. He is certainly growing up fast and he carries himself like a distinguished royal that he is. Also, we can’t help but adore George’s pair of trousers, especially considering that he’s usually spotted wearing shorts.

In 2018, etiquette expert William Hanson told Harper’s Bazaar that, among the English, it’s traditional to dress young boys in shorts while "trousers are for older boys and men." If this theory is right, then the fact that young George is proudly rocking a pair of full-length trousers in this photo does speak volumes.

And speaking of symbolism, royal expert Emily Andrews also weighed in on the possible significance of this portrait.

Andrews explained that the picture could be Her Majesty’s way of distancing herself from the whole Prince Andrew debacle and focusing on who the important members of the royal family are.

Is the portrait a message from the royals to the world? Maybe. But people just can’t get George’s cuteness regardless.

Speaking to BBC in 2016, the Duke of Cambridge explained that the Cambridges are just like "any normal family" and his goal for Prince George is to bring him up in a stable environment. The Duke did admit that when the time comes, George will get to understand his responsibility and role in the royal family.

Prince George’s life must be really fascinating. At such a young age, he’s already tied to big traditions. And based on his father’s words, someday, this royal will learn more about what’s expected of him. In fact, these photos show that it’s likely the six-year-old is already getting to that point.
