There’s been bad blood between President Trump and the Bush family in the past. This somber week, however, it didn’t show. During George W. and Laura’s stay in DC for George H.W. Bush’s funeral, the former first lady came over to the White House to have a look at Christmas decorations.
Looking forward to being with the wonderful Bush family at Blair House today. The former First Lady will be coming over to the White House this morning to be given a tour of the Christmas decorations by Melania. The elegance & precision of the last two days have been remarkable!

A sweet visit during this somber week. Thanks to Mrs. Trump for inviting our family to the White House to see the Christmas decorations and our old friends, the residence staff.
Must have felt like home for Mrs. Bush! After all, it was her residence for eight years.

The Trumps also visited the former president and first lady at the Blair House. They exchanged greetings and seemed to be at ease with each other.
The awkward kiss
George W. Bush shook the First Lady’s hand and gave her a kiss on the cheek, which is something the tradition calls for.
The kiss looked a little awkward, as the two stood a little too far apart. Photojournalist Andrew Harnik captured the moment and posted it on his Twitter page, and reactions to the photo have been mixed.
