Meghan Markle and Prince Harry did what was the best for their family — they moved out of Kensington Palace to have own, big house in Windsor Castle.
Frogmore Cottage was pretty dilapidated and odd at the beginning, though the royal couple readily and eagerly began to renovate it ahead of baby Sussex’s arrival. So, when Meghan and Harry moved into their newly-polished and redecorated shelter, the family was set to start a new, bright life.
How much did it cost?
No doubts, royals are wealthy people. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex needed to do a thorough makeover to make it look safe, cozy, and authentic.
According to the Sovereign Grant’s new report, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry spent at least $3.05 million for the full transformation.
While $3.05 million of structural work on Frogmore Cottage was paid for with the public funds, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle paid for their own furniture and interior decoration.
In case you don’t know, the Sovereign Grant is public funds which are paid annually to the Monarch by the British Government to finance the official duties.
The family-of-three
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, and Archie Harrison have been living there for nearly two months. The move-in to the new home also marks the separate household for the royal brothers.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex substantially fixed up the entire inner and outer interior so that the old, poor-looking building would look elegant and clean.
Thanks to the Queen, Meghan and Harry were able to prepare for their son’s birth and created a great atmosphere in a new house.
