Making It On Her Own: Gene Simmon's Daughter Sophie Is All Grown Up And Ready To Dive Into A Musical Career
Gene Simmon’s daughter Sophie is super excited to delve into a career in music, just like her father. But the journey to the top has proven to be more challenging than she might have expected.
Sophie is Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed’s daughter. Her parents had a really fascinating relationship in that they fell in love in 1983 but they didn’t tie the knot until 2011.
According to People, after a 28-year relationship, Gene and Shannon eventually had a beautiful ceremony in October 2011 at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
The publication reported that the couple exchanged vows in front of 400 guests.

Sophie Simmons is all grown up
Sophie was born in 1992 and with a reputation as extensive as her father’s, it’s no surprise that she realized earlier on that she wanted to be a singer.
During an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Sophie said she figured out this passion by the time she was four years old but she was skeptical about pursuing music at a young age.
She explained being a child of famous parents set her apart already but she wanted to wait until she was older and could do this her own way, without being tied to her parents’ fame.
I wanted to do it myself, and I wanted it to be hard, and I wanted it to be genuine when it did happen, at the right time, with songs that I wrote, not that people gave to me.

It turned out to be an uphill climb as Sophie revealed that she met with every major record label, none of which offered her a record deal.
