“It Was Heartbreaking.” Late Robin William’s Son, Zak Williams, Talks About His Father’s Personal Pain
It has been almost five years since the iconic Robin Williams took his own life, and his son Zak is doing all he can to carry on his legacy.
In May 2019, Zac appeared in a suicide awareness campaign by Faces of Fortitude. Faces of Fortitude is a campaign designed to provide a safe space for people affected by suicide.
It was formed by photographer, Mariangela Abeo whose brother died of the same cause.
During the interview, Zak confessed that it was hard dealing with his father’s demise, but for the past three years, he has been doing all he can to not only heal but help others through it.
It’s heartbreaking!
During a sit down with Good Morning Britain, Zak opened up about his father’s pain, with his fifth death anniversary approaching.
He explained that although it was awesome having the legendary Robin Williams as a father, he struggled with having to share him with the world.
He explained that while others saw his happy and jovial side, he saw his father suffering and feeling helpless, and that hurt him.
‘He still wanted to share his humour with the world. While he was suffering and struggling, he still went out and performed.’
