However, Malia could have been married now if not for her dad, Barack Obama.
Bold proposal
Felix Kiprono didn’t want just any woman as his wife, he wished for no one other than the President’s daughter. The Kenyan lawyer offered everything he could to get Malia Obama’s hand – 50 cows, 70 sheep, and 30 goats.
Kiprono had been pining for Malia since he first saw her in 2008 and when she turned 16, he decided she’s ready to become his beloved wife.

The man explained:
I got interested in her in 2008. As a matter of fact, I haven’t dated anyone since and promise to be faithful to her. I have shared this with my family and they are willing to help me raise the bride price.
Felix claimed that he is not after Obama family’s money, the only force that drives him is love. Kiprono started working on an official letter which would show his intentions and planned to send it the local U.S. Embassy.

Even though his offering might seem hilarious for some, it actually equals $90,000. Felix stated that he and Malia will live a simple life, though:
I will teach Malia how to milk a cow, cook ugali (a starchy dish) and prepare mursik (a sour milk) like any other Kalenjin woman.

Luckily, the Obamas ignored the strange man from Kenya and let the situation go away on its own. Moreover, Kiprono’s proposal faced a severe backlash online.
No wonder as modern society doesn’t trade cattle for women anymore and condemns those who do.
