Hugh Jackman Gets Emotional As He Recalls How His Mother Abandoned Him When He Was Only 8
Every woman is capable of being a mother. However, not every mother is ready to devote herself solely to her kids. Some parents fail to give up their dreams and aspiration.
They see their potential beyond parenthood and nurturing. That’s how a few of them abandon their precious ones without thinking about the consequences.
Such kids have a traumatized childhood that takes years to heal.
Hugh Jackman is too familiar with this pain
The Wolverine star had appeared on CBS News in 2012. During the interview, he was inquired about his childhood. Hugh went on to explain his father’s troubles as a single dad and how he managed his 5 children. Jackman used to do all his chores himself including cleaning, ironing and doing laundry. He almost broke into tears while mentioning his mother.
Hugh was only 8 years old when his mother, Grace fleed to London and never came back. His voice trembled as he uttered:
I can remember the morning she left, it’s weird the things you pick up.
For the next five years, the family kept waiting for her. As a young boy, Hugh watched his father missing his dear wife and mother of his kids. But, he became strong and became the sole supporter of the family. The actor gushed over him as:
My father is a rock. My father is my rock. It’s where I learned everything about loyalty, dependability, being there day in, day out, no matter what.
Was he able to forgive her?
The iconic actor chose to let go of the past and most recently, welcomed his mother back. He forgave Grace and now, continues a healthy relationship with her. Hugh often dedicates touching posts about her and cherishes her. A big heart like him can endure anything.
Happy Mother’s Day to my Mum … and to all of you around the world! #mothersday
Jackman has only improved his life after this terrible experience instead of mulling over the past. He spends more time with his wife and kids to make sure he’s also there for them. What a gentleman!
