Pro tennis player Andy Murray added a rare victory under his belt this week when he officially became a dad to 3!

Confirming the good news on BBC Scotland’s Mornings with Kaye Adams, Andy’s mom shared that Murray and his wife, Kim Sears, are proud parents of a new member of their family, a baby boy.

It’s lovely news, lovely to have a little boy… I’ll leave it to Andy and Kim to fill in all the details.

The news was a welcome surprise for fans, who only recently found out that Kim was pregnant. Since July, there were rumors that Kim was pregnant as she went to cheer for Andy at Wimbledon but neither of them confirmed it.

Andy and Kim, who have been together for 14 years, are known for being particularly protective of their personal lives. In the past, they have avoided speculating or commenting about their kids.

This time, however, the rare opportunity to share with the world their joy and happiness went to the proud grandma who had more to say about the little angel. She added that the baby boy was “lovely, happy and healthy,” everything a parent can ever dream of.

The little guy, whose name is yet to be disclosed, becomes the third-born in the Murray family. The three-time Grand Slam tournament winner has two daughters, 3-year-old Sophia, and 2-year-old Edie.

The welcome news comes at a time when Andy Murray is ranked at number 289 after surviving a career-threatening hip injury.

Fans wished the family great tidings

For Andy Murray’s fans, the news was received with great enthusiasm as everyone congratulated them.

To Murray and Kim, we say; no joy equals that of welcoming a new child. Congratulations.
