Twin Peaks is an American mystery drama TV series that first began airing on April 8, 1990. Even though it was a big hit in the beginning, it was cancelled in the second season (in 1991), leading to a decline in ratings. Despite the fact that it only ran for two short seasons, it still made an impression on viewers who continue to reference it to this day.

In October 2014, producers announced that a limited series of the show was in the works. According to the information, these episodes were not going to be a remake of Twin Peaks, but rather, a continuation.

Kyle Maclachlan, Mädchen Amick, Sherilyn Fenn, Jenifer Jason Leigh, Amanda Seyfried, Naomi Watts, and other members of the original cast were said to return. This limited series premiered on May 21, 2017, and featured 18 episodes.
