Boy Who Was An Entrepreneurial Genius At 4 Became A Woman After Years Of Battling Identity Crisis: “I Felt Trapped.”
For James Charles Harries, business instincts came naturally. He knew just what to buy that would yield profits.
From the young age of 4, James collected all kinds of objects from yard sales and antique shops, but his big break came when he and his family went to a jumbo sale.
While the rest of his family picked clothes, James opted for some pieces of China which unknown to him was valued for thousands of pounds.
The local news carried his story, and in an instant, James became ‘Britain’s youngest tycoon.’ He appeared on shows and transitioned his family into the limelight.
Unfortunately, all that wealth came tumbling down when the recession hit in the 90s. The property James and his father invested was a pile of debt.
Amid all the financial loss, James was having a struggle of his own. He felt trapped in his body.
Meet Lauren Charlotte Harries
While appearing on ‘Oprah; Where Are They Now’ James now Lauren, told the story of how he transitioned.
Lauren explained that she began struggling with her identity and gender when she was approaching the age of 18.
“I didn’t know who I was. I felt suddenly trapped like in a burning building, and I needed a way out.”
