11-Year-Old Girl Becomes Millionaire Selling Lemonades And Now Wants To Save The Bees

Let us face it, adults love making things complicated, right? That is why it is so important to pay attention to children and relearn with them what we’ve forgotten: simplicity and honesty that touches people.

So how about getting those qualities back with this amazing story, huh? Some people say that we can give the world back to children; however, the joke sometimes has a real meaning as they would probably govern it better than we do.

At only 11 years old, Mikaila Ulmer became a millionaire after a lemonade and honey recipe made her famous. However, she did not think about buying toys, clothes or things that most kids love; on the contrary, she decided to take care of the bees.

Watch me tomorrow morning on @weareaustin! I’ll be announcing some very fun surprises with @taylok that I know you will enjoy! #MikailaTurns13 #MeAndTheBees #announcement #bigsurprise #giveaway #13

Take care of the bees? Well, it all started when she was only four, and encouraged by her parents, decided to sign up for a small business competition in Austin, Texas, USA.

For the competition, she had to develop a product, and had the brilliant idea of taking a look at the 40-year-old cookbook that her family had just gotten from her grandmother.

There, she found a recipe for lemonade with flax seed. While she was thinking about her product, she was stung by two bees, which aroused her interest in these creatures.

Love it when the weather is perfect and I can check on the honeybees. They are doing just fine here at the @sfclocal Apiary. #local #ATX #meandthebees????????

That is when she discovered how important bees are for the world, and also that they were disappearing. She decided to change the recipe and create a lemonade with flax seed sweetened by honey, and she gave it the name BeeSweet.

She began selling the juice at entrepreneurship fairs and donated most of her profits to institutions in charge of beekeeping.
