Meghan Markle had long waited for an opportunity to fly back to the U.S., and that’s what she did this week. She went in NYC for a special occasion!

The Duchess had a baby shower, which was a private affair reportedly hosted by her good friend Serena Williams. The guest list included Amal Clooney, stylist Jessica Mulroney, Meghan’s former Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, close friend Misha Nonoo, and the CBS anchor Gayle King.

The anchor spills the beans
On This Morning, Gayle’s curious co-anchors inquired about the gathering, and she said:
A good time was had by all, that’s what I’ll say.

Gayle didn’t say what she got Meghan as a present (it’s a secret, as Meghan will open her presents together with Harry), but she did share what they did at the party:
They did flower decorations, they had flower arranging… They brought in somebody to explain how to arrange flowers. We all, each made an individual base and then Meghan got in touch with an organization I’d never heard of, Repeat Roses. And all of those [bouquets] were donated to different charities.
Gayle described Meghan as a “very sweet thing” and said she is “very kind, very generous, and a really, really sweet person.”
The anchor went on to reveal that the party was organized by Serena, Jessica, and Meghan’s childhood friend, Genevieve, and described the whole thing as “a very, very small private affair and a very special time for [Meghan].”
