Princess Madeleine welcomed her third baby, beautiful daughter, with husband Chris O’ Neill only two months ago. The newborn Princess Adrienne joins siblings, 4-year-old Princess Leonore and 2-year-old Prince Nicolas.

Despite recently giving birth, the Swedish royal looks stunning, and she’s is not afraid to dress in bright colors. Princess Madeleine posted a photo of her and other royal women wearing Swedish national costume for Nationaldagen – National Day.

The Swedish royalty was pictured in national dresses in white, yellow, and blue — the latter two colors can be seen on the country’s flag. The headscarf is only worn by Swedish princesses after they get married. Therefore, Princess Victoria is allowed to wear one, as are Princess Madeleine, Princess Sofia, and of course, Queen Silvia, but Princess Victoria’s daughter Estelle isn’t.

Princess Madeleine wore the same dress on Sweden’s Day last year, but we can understand her – it’s a tradition and that dress is really worth to be worn more than once.

The official celebration of the Swedish holiday began on June 6 in 1983. It commemorates the day Gustav Vasa was crowned king in 1523 as well as the day a new constitution was adopted in 1809. The suggestion to celebrate the national day came from Arthur Hazelius, the founder of Skansen, Stockholm’s open-air museum.

Since 1890’s, every year, the king and queen take a part in a ceremony at the museum, during which children in traditional costumes present the couple with bouquets of summer flowers.
