It’s not likely that Kate Middleton, a member of the British royal family and Prince William’s wife, and now, a proud mother of three adorable children, is self-conscious about it.

Duchess’ scar on the left temple was first seen at Clarence House in 2011, during one of her first events as a member of the royal family. You can see the 3-inch-mark just beneath the hairline in the photo taken during another occasion. According to People, Kate Middleton got this scar from an operation in her childhood. The Palace spokesperson didn’t provide further information regarding the type of surgery for privacy reasons.

Should you be intimidated by your scars?

A scar is a fibrous tissue that replaces regular skin after serious damage. After all, it is an absolutely normal healing mechanism of the body. Only very minor lesions may not result in the scarring.

There are many reasons to love your scars. For instance, every scar tells your story. Whether you fell from your bike or accidentally tripped and smashed your forehead into something, you survived! That’s why your scars signify your strength. Also, the cool bonus of any scar is that they resemble time and can make you nostalgic.
