Michael Douglas Talks Openly About Possible Accusations From His Former Female Employee
In the last few months, a new name of a male actor, filmmaker, or producer makes the headlines alongside the words “assault” and “harassment” every now and then. And recently, Michael Douglas joined the list.
Although, he did it with a little twist: it was Douglas who made the first move and talked openly about what did and what did not happen with his former co-worker over three decades ago.

“I felt the need to get ahead of this”
The legendary Oscar-winning actor decided to speak out against potential accusations from his former employee in an interview with the Hollywood trade publication Deadline. The actor posted a link to the full text of the interview on his Facebook page with a caption reading: “This is an important article I’d like my friends to read.”
According to the 73-year-old actor, the Hollywood Reporter is currently working on a story about himself and his former employee. Among other things, the woman claims that Douglas used “colorful language” in her presence and prevented her from continuing her career in the entertainment industry. The media reached to Douglas for a comment on the matter right before the holidays.

The said woman worked with the actor approximately 32 years ago. The actor admitted that he might have used a few rude words in a private conversation that she could have overheard.
As far as using colorful language in front her, I apologize. None of it was directed at her; she didn’t say it was.
And as for the blackballing and other accusations, Michael said they were “completely untrue.”
She was a lady who was involved in development at my company, and we just didn’t have a good development record in the time she was there, so I just moved on.
The actor also added that this situation affected not only him but also his wife, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and his kids.

“The part that hurt the worst is having to share something like this to your wife and your children,” said the actor. “My kids are really upset.”
Michael Douglas is the son of the Hollywood legend Kirk Douglas, who just recently celebrated his 101st birthday and was honored by the Golden Globes for his incredible impact on the industry. Along with his wife of 20 years, Catherine Zeta-Jones, they raise two kids: a son Dylan and a daughter Carys. The actor also has a son Cameron from the previous marriage.
