Places such as the chin, belly button, and ears can also be invaded by pesky little hairs. Perhaps, the worst area, in which they can appear, is around the nipples. Generally, these hairs grow on or around the areola.

If you’ve only ever found a few hairs around your body, it’s likely that your new hairy friends are due to hormonal fluctuations caused by pregnancy or menopause. Some medications can also lead to excessive body hair. If you find a large number of hairs, it could be due to a condition known as hirsutism, which causes excessive hair growth on the body. Hirsutism can be genetic or it can also be caused by other more serious conditions, such as polcystic ovarian syndrome or anorexia.
