“I Lost Myself”. Jada Pinkett Smith Reveals She Gave Up Her Career To Raise Kids Willow And Jaden

Jada Pinkett Smith is married to one of the most talented actors in Hollywood, Will Smith. She is a happy wife and mother of two children, Willow and Jaden. It may seem this woman has everything, but not everybody knows she had to give up many of her dreams to get a happy family.

Jada was also rather successful in the acting sphere and even was about to break the music industry, when she decided to dedicate her life to family.

At some point, she refused to perform with Guns & Roses when her children’s careers took off.

Jada Pinkett Smith claims she lost herself while raising kids. During one of her interviews she said:

I lost myself. When you realize that you’ve lost yourself, that’s like devastating. It’s like, ‘How do I get myself back?’

And added:

That’s been my life for the past 20 some years, battling and rearing. Giving up my career to raise my children, that was a battle.

Nevertheless, Jada loves her kids, and would not change anything in her life. She said:

I would not change it. I love my family. Don’t get that wrong. But I got lost along the way.

Jada is really loving and devoted mother not only to her kids Willow And Jaden, but also to her stepson Trey, Will’s son from the first marriage. Woman claims it is important to love stepchildren as much as you love your own ones.

She said:

When I married Will, I knew Trey was part of the package. Period! If I didn’t want that, I needed to marry someone else. Then I learned if I’m going to love Trey, I had to learn to love the most important person in the world to him – his mother.
