Before becoming President, Donald Trump was busy running a huge corporation, and he may have even less free time now. But, being a good father, he always finds time for his children and grandkids.

Melania told PEOPLE in 2015 that her husband and son enjoy spending time together:

Barron loves to be one-on-one with Dad because normally he’s almost always all the time with me. So I give them space when it’s Daddy and Barron time. They go alone for dinner, one-on-one. They play golf together. He looks forward to that.

2. Barron certainly takes after his father

You see that Barron looks very much like his father, and his characters are also very similar.

In 2015, Melania Trump told Parenting.com:

He is a very strong-minded, very special, smart boy. He is independent and opinionated and knows exactly what he wants. Sometimes I call him little Donald. He is a mixture of us in looks, but his personality is why I call him little Donald.

3. Melania taught Barron her native language

5. Barron’s parents encourage independence and let the boy be himself

Mr. and Mrs. Trump let their son choose his own hobbies and encourage him to do what he likes. In an interview with Parenting.com, Melania said:

I don’t push my thoughts or likes or dislikes. I want him to grow to be his own person.

Both Melania and Donald believe in hands-on parenting. In an interview with PEOPLE in 2015, Donald Trump said this about outside help:

We keep it down to a minimum. If you have too much help, you don’t get to know your children.

His wife added:

I like to be hands-on. I think it’s very important.
