Princess Charlotte Will Probably Carry On With The Family Tradition So Important For Queen Elizabeth

All the members of the British royal family receive the same education, regardless of the gender. They are taught the rules of etiquette and are involved in a number of duties. Moreover, they often share the same hobbies. One of them is equestrian sport.

Princess Charlotte has recently turned three, but she already shows interest in horse riding. The famous British rider, Natasha Baker, shared that she found out about this from Kate Middleton, who previously mentioned her daughter’s new interest. Even though the Duchess doesn’t really share her relatives’ love for horses, she promised to encourage Charlotte.

Queen Elizabeth became famous for her horseback journeys. She started riding at the age of four. The young royal participated in the traditional equestrian parades, held as a part of the official birthday celebrations until 1987. She didn’t take part in any competitions like her younger relatives, however, she attended royal horse courses, and was always happy to ride wherever she was. Moreover, the British court stable was considered one of the best in the country.

The Queen’s only daughter, Princess Anne, is a huge fan of the equestrian sport. She took part in the Olympic Games in 1976, and won silver medals in European competitions twice.

Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall, took the second place in Burghley Horse Trials in 2003, and won gold at the team event in the European Triathlon Championship in 2005. A year later, the girl became a reigning world champion, until 2010.

Charlotte’s relatives – princes Charles, William, and Harry – have always been considered wonderful riders. All of them repeatedly took part in charity competitions in equestrian polo, leading their teams to victories.

Horse riding isn’t the only sport with which the Duke of Cambridge associates his children. Recently, it was also reported that George and Charlotte made their first steps in tennis (Kate’s favorite activity), as well as soccer.

While it is difficult to predict whether Kate’s daughter is going to become a brilliant rider, she will always have plenty of tutors. How do you think, are these kinds of sports dangerous for children of such young age? Share your thoughts in the comments.
