"No, We Didn't Kiss": Katie Couric Recalls Going On A Blind Date With Senator Cory Booker
Katie Couric never hesitates from sharing her romantic encounters. She means to connect with people with her experiences. Her first husband’s tragedy left her living as a single mom.
Now, she also revealed a rather playful side of hers.
The 62-year-old host was married to Jay Monahan between 1989 and 1998. His demise from colon cancer parted them forever.
She became solely responsible for her two daughters, Caroline and Elinor Monahan. His love still walks with her and gives her the courage to stand up against cancer.
Recently, Katie commemorated him with a sweet tribute. It was a throwback photo of Jay with their daughter.
Jay Monahan January 9, 1956- January 24, 1998 Twenty years ago today. We miss you.
Did she date Cory Booker?
Last week, Katie Couric joined Wendy Williams on her daytime talk show.
When the topic diverted to Cory Booker dating actress Rosario Dawson, Katie chimed in with a tale of her own. She disclosed that once, she went on a blind date with the Senator at a New York Giants football game. However, it’s been a very long time ago.
As published on Huff Post, Williams got a little curious to know the details. She asked if the Democratic presidential candidate and Katie actually kissed. She replied with a laugh:
Did we kiss? No, we did not kiss.

Couric recalled they didn’t even hold hands while crossing the parking lot. Wendy retranslated their interaction to be just a casual hangout between two pals, rather than a date. That’s pretty comical!
Katie’s current hubby
Couric met her current husband, a banker, John Molner in 2012. She told PEOPLE magazine how their connection was almost instant. They tied the knot only two years later to begin their journey to a happily ever after.
