The woman who was an inspiration to the thousands of women all around the world dies at the age of 96 in hospice care.

It was reported by her daughter-in-law, Marnie Blankenship. She, by the way, was one of those who cared about the now-famous Naomi Parker Fraley while she was in hospice care. The woman organized the donations for the lady, who needed some additional care and attention.

And it’s a great pity the world learned about the real person behind the poster only at the dawn of the woman’s life. Here’s the story.

Sad mistake finally revealed.

Back in the years of WWII, lots of women didn’t have any other choice but to fill the labor force. It was 1942 when a photographer came to the factory where Naomi Parker Fraley had been working at that time. He took a few pictures and left the factory. Soon, Naomi and her sister Ada, come across The Oakland Post-Enquirer paper and carefully cut out the article with the picture of Naomi captioned “Naomi Parker”.

The woman didn’t have any intentions of being famous. She was simply living her life until one moment that made everything clear.

Together with her sister, they visited the Rosie the Riveter National Park in Richmond. It was there that they saw the picture of Naomi. However, to their surprise, it was signed with the name of another lady, Geraldine Hoff Doyle. Apparently, it was a mistake, and Naomi, together with her sister, proved that with the help of their cutouts from the paper.

"The women of this country these days need some icons. If they think I’m one, I’m happy about that." Rest in peace to Naomi Parker Fraley, the real Rosie the Riveter. ????❤️ Learn more → https://t.co/gjnC1oyR9O (via @nytimes) pic.twitter.com/CfuXwAPB01
