Michelle Obama Finally Announces Tour For Her Much Anticipated Book, 'Becoming'
Former First lady Michelle Obama has finally announced dates for her book tour. Starting November 13, Michelle Obama will be travelling around the country to talk about her autobiography. The first event will be taking place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, and will make its way across ten locations with a final stop at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas, on December 17.
Michelle Obama shared news about the book tour on her Instagram last week, with a video inviting her followers and other people, interested in attending the event, to get their tickets. Registration began on September 12, as announced on the official book website.
Her book Becoming is published by Penguin Random House, and captures the life and times of the former First Lady. Speaking about the book in June, Michelle Obama said it would reveal intimate details about her life, starting from her early years in the South Side of Chicago to her marriage and family life.
In addition, the book will provide insight into her time in the White House, and her personal battles with racism and discrimination. The book also contains intimate family photos that show a side of the Obamas not seen even by the White House’ staff.
Fans can hardly wait
As for the millions of Obama fans, Becoming should have come much sooner, and the anticipation is electric. Some fans have even teased about the likelihood of current First Lady Melania Trump ripping off Michelle Obama’s book in the future, a grim reminder of her campaign speech fiasco.
The former FLOTUS is set to make a lot of money from her book, and it is hardly surprising. Many Americans still consider her one of the most beloved First Ladies of all times. Some observers believe that the book may receive uneven reception from both the Republicans and Democrats, but if the press coverage is anything to go by, Michelle Obama’s book may be on the road to becoming a bestseller.
