Although we now can’t get enough of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s fairytale love, their path to happiness wasn’t smooth whatsoever.

The couple split up in 2007 due to numerous reasons. The foremost one was Kate’s inner feelings towards her boyfriend. She didn’t feel like William paid enough attention to her. Moreover, they wanted to find themselves, since they were so young and inexperienced in love.

All of this is just another story, which comes and goes. Today the Duke and Duchess are one of the happiest couples, doing everything together, respecting each other, and raising three beautiful children.

Well, it’s no secret that Catherine wasn’t William’s first ‘bae’. Kate reportedly became furious when she met face-to-face with her husband’s ex-girlfriend, Carly Massy-Birch, and was left stressed and astonished.

In the book, The Making of a Royal Romance, royal expert Katie Nicholl concedes how Kate, William, and his ex were playing the game ‘never have I ever’. Allegedly, this game left the Duchess off the handle.

When it was Carly’s turn to play, she said ‘I’ve never dated two people in this room,’ although she knew that William was the only one who had. Everyone knew that Kate and William were a thing, but it was the first time they had to confirm their relationship over Carly’s statement. 

It was the awkward confrontation of their relationship that left Kate angry and annoyed. Moreover, William also couldn’t believe that Carly would do such a thing, knowing his love for privacy.

Other relationships 

It has always seemed to us that William and Kate were always the first choices for each other, although that’s far from reality.

Apart from Carly Massy-Birch and Kate, which we already mentioned, the Duke of Cambridge dated 5 others ladies: Davina Duckworth-Chad (June 1999 – July 1999), Rose Farquhar (2000), Jessica ‘Jecca’ Craig (2001), Arabella Musgrave (Summer 2001), and Olivia Hunt (2002).

Wow, it seems like our ‘good Duke’ either was a womanizer or was seeking the right person (hint: Catherine). Well, there’s no need to go through the details of their relationships since they simply didn’t work. So let’s say ‘bye-bye’ to all of them and ‘well done’ to Kate!
