It seems that one of the aforementioned theories is correct. In particular, a friend told PEOPLE that Meghan and Harry were ‘forced’ to quit royal duties.

In this week’s cover story, the source revealed that stepping back from royalty was an inevitable moment as the Sussex couple had felt blacklisted from the royal family.

Meghan Markle seemingly felt so snubbed by the members of the family that she even didn’t join their official summit at Sandringham. According to some reports, she was supposed to join the senior royals for a serious conversation, but she and Harry decided it was unnecessary.

Director and the couple’s friend, Tom Bradby, gave a similar opinion. In fact, he mentioned how Meghan and Harry’s friends thought that the two felt like they were “driven out.” He added the environment was very toxic and frustrating, and it’s deplorable to witness.

What does Prince Charles think about the situation? Even though the Queen expressed her support to Meghan and Harry, Prince Charles never wanted this to happen. A palace insider told PEOPLE that the future King wished to collaborate with their sons and their wives until the very end. Now, he will have only William and Kate by his side.
