Laura Leighton portrayed the character of easy-going young woman Sydney Andrews. By the way, it was initially intended to last for a few episodes of season one, but turned out to be one of the most beloved characters.

Doug Savant played the role of Matthew ‘Matt’ Fielding, Jr., an openly gay man working as a social worker in Los Angeles.

Couple’s marriage

Laura Leighton and Doug Savant are happily married since 1998, and can’t imagine their lives without each other. Moreover, they are parenting four kids and are perfect parents for their children.

Laura and Doug met on set, and their relations developed rapidly. Nevertheless, they didn’t start dating right away. Despite working with each other for quite a long time, Laura and Doug became romantically involved only in 1997.

Doug Savant later revealed that meeting Laura Leighton was the best outcome of the show.

Reportedly, there was a chemistry between Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro, who played the role of Dr. Michael Mancini on Melrose Place. Thomas replied to rumors with a smile on his face, telling they are just friends.
