"He Was A Good Man, A Good Soul": Kelly Ripa Pays A Heartfelt Tribute To The Late Luke Perry

Family, friends, and fans are shocked and saddened by the sudden passing of the Riverdale and Beverly Hills, 90210 star Luke Perry.

The actor died on Monday, a few days after he suffered a stroke. He was only 52. Many of those who knew Luke personally paid touching tributes, and Kelly Ripa had the most heartbreaking but sweet words about him.

Kelly’s bittersweet tribute

Kelly was still in disbelief when she and her Live co-host, Ryan Seacrest, remembered Luke on the show.

Kelly’s husband, Mark Consuelos, starred with Luke on Riverdale, but they were more than colleagues – Luke was a family friend. The host could barely hold back tears as she shared how she will remember him. She said:

He was a good, good man. You won’t see a person say otherwise – he’s a good man, a good soul, conscientious, a gentleman, a dear friend of our family, of the ‘Live’ family.

Other friends and former co-stars paid tributes as well

The late actor was well-loved by fans, and his co-stars also knew him as the nicest person. Luke’s Beverly Hills, 90210 castmates and other celebs who knew him personally took to social media to express their condolences to the family and shared heartfelt tributes.

Ian Ziering wrote on Instagram:

Dearest Luke,
I will forever bask in the loving memories we’ve shared over the last thirty years. May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just like you have done here for those you leave behind. God please give him a seat close to to you, he deserves it.

Shannen Doherty, who also was Luke’s good friend, wrote:

Yesterday morning I got a phone call that devastated me. I’m struggling with this loss and am having a hard time with my thoughts. But, my heart goes out to his family and friends who were blessed by his light in their (and mine) lives. Processing this is impossible right now.

Rest in peace, Luke! You’ll be remembered as a talented actor, a good friend, and an endlessly devoted family man.
