Drunk Hit-And-Run Driver Killed A 73-Year-Old Grandma, And Now, Her Daughter Speaks Out
Unfortunately, hit-and-run accidents are increasing in many major U.S. cities. As a result, hit-and-run fatalities are also rising nationally. In 2016, more than 2 thousand people were killed in such accidents, which was a 62% increase as compared to the year 2009!
Drunk drivers are a major part of the problem. And unfortunately, the family of a 73-year-old Virginia Beach grandmother know this better than anyone.
Maria Fox was struck by a drunk driver who fled the scene. The man was later arrested and taken to the hospital due to his injuries. Sadly, the woman died of a blunt force trauma to her head. Shortly before the accident, Maria had been spending time with her daughter, Sherry Mclachlan, at her house.
I still can’t believe she’s not here. She was the one I’d call every day.
What does Fox’s family think about the accident?

According to Sherry, her mother lived her life focusing on forgiveness. She even had the ‘Blessing Tree’ near her house where she would pray for other people:
She would hold their hands and pray for them under this tree. And she would come out here and sit every morning and pray.

This is why Sherry will do everything possible to focus on what her mom taught her, which is to forgive. The daughter says she will forgive the man for the accident, but he should definitely pay for it.

Besides, Maria wants a traffic light to be installed at the intersection where the crash took place to prevent similar fatalities.
Condolences to the family!
