Donald Trump Jr. Slams Gay Olympic Medalist Adam Rippon On Social Media
On February 13, Donald Trump Jr. slammed figure skater Adam Rippon in response to bronze medal winner’s comment about Vice President Mike Pence. The figure skater has publicly criticized Pence’s position towards LGBTQ.

Rippon is openly gay, and he told on the press conference that was held on the same day that he doesn’t want his first Olympic competition and big win to be overshadowed by the feud between him and Pence.

He said:
I don’t want my Olympic experience being about Mike Pence. I have no problem about what I’ve said because I stand by it, but I think right now the Olympics are about Olympic competition.
The controversy began when rumors about Rippon declining to meet Pence for a face-to-face conversation before the Olympics have started circulating.

It’s understandable that the Olympic medalist wants the audience to be focused on his achievements and not his comments about Mike Pence. And while he’s concentrated on the Winter Games, Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter to respond to Ribbon’s comments.
Really? Then Perhaps you shouldn’t have spent the past few weeks talking about him. I haven’t heard him mention you once??? https://t.co/8lcCsoyBsq

Clearly, the Trump family loves using Twitter to fight their battles.
The vice president was named as one of the U.S. officials who would lead the American delegation at the 2018 Winter Games.

This made Rippon raise a subject of Pence’s reported support of gay conversion therapy.
Rippon said in one of his interviews:
If it were before my event, I would absolutely not go out of my way to meet somebody who I felt has gone out of their way to not only show that they aren’t a friend of a gay person but that they think that they’re sick. I wouldn’t go out of my way to meet somebody like that.
So far, Rippon hasn’t responded to Trump’s comment, but the Twitter world came to the skater’s rescue:
