How to clean artichokes

To be honest, there are multiple ways of cleaning and prepping artichokes for cooking. Some of them are indeed extremely complicating and time-consuming. For instance, the most challenging method suggests you should peel off the leaves, cut the stem off, and cut off the green parts of the bottom of the artichoke and its stem to get to the white, tender part. Cooking artichokes: stuffing and grilling

Once you’ve cleaned and prepared your artichokes for cooking, you can stuff them with food – from different kinds of salads to things like rice and meat. Just scoop out the choke inside of the plant with a small spoon or melon baller and you are ready to go. Be sure to pour some lemon juice inside beforehand to prevent the oxidizing process.

Before actually grilling your artichokes, you need to steam them. You can boil a large pot of water and put a steaming basket with the artichokes inside. The plants should not touch the water. Leave them steaming for around 45 minutes. Periodically check if they are already cooked. They should become tender, so that you could easily insert a knife into the stem. After you’ve done that, place the artichokes in a preheated grill over medium heat for around 8-10 minutes. Voila! You’ve got your super delicious, extraordinary dinner ready.
