Casey Kasem's Widow Accuses His Attorney & Children Of "Conspiring To Kill" Him For Monetary Gains
A lot of scandals surrounded Casey Kasem during his final days. His family feud between wife Jean and daughter from a previous marriage, Kerri, had reportedly landed him in hospital. He was suffering from dementia after progressed Alzheimer’s.
Jean Kasem had moved her husband out of the nursing home. It made a judge rule the decision in Kerri’s favor. His daughter held the authority to terminate Casey’s infusions of water, food, and medicine. He passed away in June of 2014 at the age of 82.
Planned death
According to PageSix, the radio legend’s widow has filed a wrongful-demise lawsuit. She is pointing finger at Casey’s attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III. In the new documents, she has accused him of conspiring to kill her husband. Jean believes Kasem’s children, Kerri, Julie, and Michael, were also involved.
Jean has employed former LA prosecutor Becky James to fight on her behalf. The claim states:
Ingham and Casey’s older adult children ensured that Casey starved to death in a strange hospital far from home without his wife of more than three decades and youngest daughter [Liberty Kasem] by his side.
The rift has a long history
Jean’s step-children had also outdone themselves in the blame game. They think her actions led to their dad’s death. People magazine reported that the trio sued the widow for restricting contact with their father. This would have possibly distressed Casey emotionally.
Deceased Casey Kasem had a net worth of $100 million. The monetary gains to both parties have clouded the final verdict. Only time will tell who’s really responsible for the icon’s downfall.
