Detecting breast cancer is really easy

According to Healthline, the symptoms of breast cancer are pretty straightforward. If you suspect or fear that there are cancerous cells growing in your breast, these are the signs to look out for.

Lumps. Not just any lumps but ones that are hard with irregular shapes. Particularly if the lump does not go away after your next period. Breast pain that persists, changes in nipple shape, and discharges are also warning signs.

She says the cat saved her life

But, Michelle Pearson says she would not have known that she had cancer without the help of her trusty rescue cat. The story is quite extraordinary.

According to Michelle, Mia sniffed the exact spot where the lump was and kept giving her a strange look that made her feel all was not well.

All of a sudden, out of nowhere, she just got up on my chest and she sniffed that breast and then looked in my face, sniffed the spot again and looked in my face. And I tried to shove her off, and she came back up and just laid down on that right breast. And she looked at me like "I’m trying to tell you something."

Good for Michelle that she listened to what the cat was trying to tell her, and went to get tested.

Sure enough, she was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer.

Cat powers: Myth vs fact

According to KXAN, it is possible for specially trained dogs to detect cancer in humans, but Mia, who is a service cat, has not been trained to do this yet.

Online, people are full of praise for the cat and are vowing to pay more attention to their own cats, but there is no known medical proof to support Michelle’s claim.
